GOLF
The Links at Terranea is a dramatic 9-hole, par-3 Southern California oceanfront golf course, with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. Masterfully routed and beautifully integrated with its natural surroundings, this collection of championship-caliber holes offers a unique environment for both group and individual play. Players also enjoy a multi-tiered short-game practice area with chipping and putting greens.

Nestled at the edge of the Pacific Ocean and the Palos Verdes coastline, The Spa at Terranea harmoniously blends with the natural beauty of its Southern California oceanfront setting. With indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, this serene oasis is meticulously designed for restorative therapy and an unparalleled wellness experience.
PRIVATE FALCONRY EXPERIENCE
Meet our falconer and get up close and personal with his majestic birds of prey. Since 2009 we have used the ancient art of falconry to provide a natural bird abatement program, ensuring that the resort is free from droppings and bacteria from seagulls, pigeons, and crows who would otherwise overrun the area. Includes personal introduction to the birds, and a guided tour of the property where Joe is working.
ARCHERY
Experience the unique sport of archery on an ocean side range with sweeping views of Catalina Island. Our skilled archery instructors will provide you with bow and arrow instruction, followed by shooting practice and games. Archery dates back over 5,000 years and was the preferred hunting method used by the Tongva people, who used to inhabit the Palos Verdes Peninsula. You are sure to find this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a fun and educational experience. Archery is a perfect family activity, and our zombies make a special appearance by request!
GUIDED COASTAL HIKE
Terranea Resort is committed to an educational campaign focused on the environment. Our guided hike stops at a variety of spectacular viewing points including the Point Vicente Lighthouse and the Terranea Sea Salt Conservatory. As you walk along our coastal trails, our naturalist will point out local flora and fauna. You may spot a California Gnat Catcher, an El Segundo Blue Butterfly, or an Allen's Hummingbird, all native to Southern California.
OCEANVIEW HORSEBACK ADVENTURE
Experience the beauty of Palos Verdes at its finest during a trail ride with Ocean View Riding. Our trail rides are available for ages 12 and up. Please note that our trail route does include hills and heights.
TENNIS & PICKLEBALL
Enjoy a leisurely game of tennis or pickleball at the Peninsula Racquet Club. Equipment rentals can be provided for $10 per person paid at Club.
STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDING
Paddle boarding along the Palos Verdes coast is an unforgettable adventure. Led by our skilled guide, you will test your core strength while paddling through amazing kelp beds along our shoreline. Gliding above the kelp forest, an endless ecosystem often referred to as an underwater rainforest, you will have a unique view of the ever-changing ocean landscape.

Travel & Transportation
All employees can use Lagniappe Travel Services to book their airfare and rental car (if needed). This includes airfare for guests. The resort is a 45-60-minute trip from LAX, so Uber or Lyft are alternate transportation options. If you would prefer a rental car, please note that on the request.
Note - Effective January 2024, any business travel booking through Lagniappe will require employees to use their own corporate T&E Amex cards for payment. If you don't have a Corporate T&E Amex Card, please contact Accounts Payable (ap@wordandbrown.com) to discuss your options.

FAQ
The dress code is resort casual attire for the daytime, and dressy resort attire for the evening. Layering is recommended for the coastal weather, especially at night. A weather forecast can be found on the homepage.
All employees will receive a $100 resort credit. Your credit can be used anywhere on property for food/beverage, in-room charges, retail, or activities.
Check-in time begins at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m. When possible, the resort is happy to accommodate requests for early check-in or late check-out. However, resort staff may not be able to honor such requests due to the resort's occupancy, availability of specific room types, and the time required for their housekeeping department to clean and prepare guest accommodations.
We have planned our programming accordingly to allow for inclement weather plans. All events/activities have an indoor/outdoor component.
Please reach out to ToniMarie Munoz at tmunoz@wordandbrown.com as soon as possible to confirm which programs/activities your guest can attend. This allows the Events team to plan accordingly.
Guests under the age of 21 are welcome to stay at the resort and enjoy its amenities. However, they will not be able to attend any programs or events where alcohol is served at an open bar. Please plan accordingly for any portions of the celebration involving alcohol.
You may bring a guest who is employed at Word & Brown General Agency if they are your spouse, or if you have prior approval from Marc McGinnis. Be sure to get the necessary approval to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for all.
All employees can use Lagniappe Travel Services to book travel for themselves and their guests. Please refer to the Travel & Transportation tab for further instructions.
