Anthem Participation Guidelines Changing for 5/1

Beginning with the May 1, 2018, effective date, Anthem Blue Cross is modifying its promotional participation guidelines, as shown below:
- For groups with less than 5 employees enrolled, 70% participation is required.
- For groups with 5 or more enrolled, 30% participation is required.
Anthem’s other underwriting promotions for new and renewing business include:
- DE 9C not required with 6 or more enrolling; groups with prior coverage must submit prior carrier bill. Excludes virgin groups.
- Dual HMO Networks: groups can select both of Anthem’s HMO networks to be offered alongside each other.
