Another Reason to Choose Word & Brown: CE Training Classes for New Brokers

insurance ce training courses

When you’re starting your career as a health insurance professional, it’s important to think about how you’ll build your business and grow your expertise. Choosing your market, deciding on the types of insurance you’ll write, and finding your niche are big steps. Another major decision is whether to work independently or partner with a General Agency (GA). For many new agents, a GA not only provides support and resources but also opportunities for insurance CE training and insurance CE courses that help you meet continuing education requirements while advancing your career.

Benefits of Working With a General Agency

There are many benefits to working with a GA. You can remain “independent” and still earn full commissions.

Other advantages of working with a GA include:

  • Carrier relationships and access to a broader product portfolio
  • Insurance company appointment support
  • Sales and marketing assistance (plan comparisons, quoting, renewal prep)
  • Enrollment and underwriting assistance

When you partner with Word & Brown, you get all of the above – plus insurance Continuing Education (CE) Credits and training.

CE Training and CE Courses for Insurance Professionals

Week of Webinars (WOW) is Just the Start

You may be familiar with our long-running CE series, Week of Webinars. It’s our annual week-long program that gives California insurance professionals the opportunity to earn up to half of the CE Credits needed to renew a Department of Insurance (CDI) license. (For details concerning CE guidelines in the Golden State, visit the state ‘s CE web page. Brokers in Nevada are ineligible for WOW CE Credits due to state regulations.)

WOW began more than eight years ago. Since it began, W&B has delivered tens of thousands of CE Credits to brokers and other attendees. In 2025, we had our best year yet for WOW, including:

  • 12,369 total attendees (brokers, agency staff, and others)
  • 11,464 attendees (excluding staff) – up nearly 20% from two years ago
  • 16,822 brokers registered (excluding staff) – our strongest core broker registration ever
  • 365 brokers attending all 12 courses offered – up 36% from 2024
  • 11,546 CE Credits issued through the California Dept. of Insurance

Beyond WOW: More Insurance CE Training Options

In addition to WOW, Word & Brown offers brokers and employers access to insurance CE courses and insurance CE training classes through in-person training. We partner with carriers, the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, and state association chapters to sponsor webinars or live events where we deliver product, compliance, and legislative updates that could offer CE Credits. These courses address a cross-section of topics, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), product and health market strategy, compliance, ethics, business development, and technology and security.

CE Classes 2026: What’s Ahead

Because of the popularity of WOW, and to give brokers more opportunities to earn CE Credits in 2026, we are planning to increase our CE Credit courses in the new year. Although plans have not yet been finalized, we are considering:

  • a mini-WOW in February open to all brokers
  • the return of a full 12-course WOW offering in June (course details to be announced)
  • A second mini-WOW offering in late Q3 or early Q4

Watch for more information early in 2026.
