Posted: March 13, 2019 by Staff Writer
With privacy breaches an all-too-familiar news story, from Fortune 500 Companies to competing insurance agencies, ensuring information security for both you and your clients is of utmost importance to Word & Brown.
To practice what we preach, we are very pleased to announce The Word & Brown Companies, including both the Word & Brown General Agency and CHOICE Administrators, have earned HITRUST certification.
What is HITRUST?
HITRUST (Health Information Trust Alliance) is a privately held company that works in collaboration with health care organizations (e.g., carriers, Third Party Administrators, General Agencies), technology, and information security leaders to establish security framework designed to store information. It requires an extensive audit of security measures and practices to determine whether information both stored and shared is secure.
Receiving a HITRUST certification is not a requirement of being deemed HIPAA compliant; however, it shows customers of companies proactively earning the certification that their commitment to consumer security is strong.
The bottom line: when you work with Word & Brown, you can be confident the information of both you and your clients is safe and secure.
